Aptunion is a French brand with a long and fascinating history dating back to the 14th century, when the inhabitants of the small town of Apt famously “tempted” the Pope himself with exquisite locally produced candied fruits. By the 17th century, the renowned French writer Madame de Sévigné referred to Apt in her letters as a “cauldron of jam,” highlighting the region’s unique culinary identity. This family tradition of candied fruit production was preserved for centuries, while the region’s specialization in candied fruits expanded significantly after World War II.

In 1962, several independent family-owned producers in Apt joined forces to establish Aptunion, which quickly gained recognition not only across Europe but worldwide. Today, the brand is part of the Mireolian Group, supplying a wide range of candied fruits to confectioners, bakers, and culinary professionals throughout Europe.
In addition, Aptunion products are exported to more than 50 countries around the globe. The company produces an extensive range of candied fruits, fruits in syrup, and fruit pieces—primarily cherry, orange, and lemon—designed mainly for the food industry.
