Sorbitol powder (1 kg) from Louis Francois. Obtained by hydrogenation of dextrose and crystallisation. Easily soluble in water. Its bacteriostatic properties allow for longer shelf life of products. A natural sugar substitute and softness stabiliser used in the preparation of beverages, confectionery, and dietary products to improve taste, colour, and moisture retention. Sorbitol prevents crystallisation in cakes, pastries, and chocolate candies.
